First Wedding of THE YEAR

It was a beautiful day in Wash D.C., 3 days before Spring. Weather was beyond perfect, not too hot or too cold. My last wedding in 2023 was 10/21/23 at the Ritz -Carlton. When the season first starts, I swear I feel like I have forgotten everything I know lol. But this day (3/16) was perfect. It was like riding a bike, tables and chairs down, florist sets flowers, catering prepares food. It was what I missed so much!

DC was in the beginning of cherry blossom season, so the blossoms were blossoming. My bride and groom were a beautiful couple who wanted to have a great time with family and friends at a beautiful Jewish ceremony and dancing to follow.

I got there early and met my assistant Payton, who is AWSOME. The ceremony chairs were wrong, first hiccup. Quick decision the Groomsmen came over and helped move the wrong chairs back to storage and catering placed the right chairs down to help save set up time. Sometimes you have to roll up your own sleeves, and I did, moving 110 chairs against a wall. The job can be labor intensive sometimes.

But we bumped into no additional problems. My vendors were spectacular and for most of us it was the first wedding of the season. There was great food, pizza served late night, and the great Hora dance!! I love it. The Chuppah was decorated with beautiful flowers and the DJ was great all night.

The Josephine Butler Parks Center is a beautiful venue! I would recommend for those looking to stay in the city but not wanting the hotel style venue.

So here is to the beginning of another great year….. CHEERS!!!

XOXO
